The event will feature Purchase Anthropology alum (class of 2013) Cat Owens who will speak about how she uses Anthropology in her work as Writer's Assistant at Last Week Tonight with John Oliver!! Come to the Anthro Club screening of Black Mirror--there will be a discussion of the episode after the viewing.

Dr. Andrea Arai will speak about the Japanese films Battle Royale and Tokyo Sonata in relation to the figure of the child in recessionary Japan. Not to be missed!! Prof. Shaka McGlotten recently co-authored a piece with Scott Webel in S&F Online (The Scholar & Feminist Online) titled, "Poop Worlds: Material Culture and Copropower (or, Toward a Shitty Turn)."

Prof. Shaka McGlotten presented a paper titled, "Black Data: Queer of Color Critique Meets Network Culture Studies" at The Center for the Humanities (CUNY Graduate Center) conference titled Queer Circuits in Archival Times: Experimentation and Critique of Networked Data in May 2016.
